What does Hired do?
Hired is the largest AI-driven career marketplace, matching ambitious tech & sales talent with the world’s most innovative companies. They combine intelligent job matching with unbiased career counseling to help people find a job they love. And the best part? It’s free for job seekers. Hired streamlines the job application process. Candidates start by creating a profile and adding all of their information, including skills, past projects, experience, passions, and more. If the profile is approved, Hired’s algorithm works to identify roles you may be most interested in.
Hired uses machine learning algorithms to match your skills and interests to companies that are currently hiring. Candidates receive interview requests from companies and decide whether or not they’d like to go through the process. During this process, candidates are matched up with a Hired Candidate Experience Team Member who can help them navigate their time on Hired.
Once candidates begin interviewing with companies, their Hired Candidate Experience Team Member acts as the recruiter, managing their job interview processes from beginning to end. The team will ensure that candidates and companies are on the same page with their expectations and preferences. Ultimately, the team communicates on behalf of the candidate to ensure they are supported and their job search preferences are met. Candidates are still required to go through all of the steps of the company’s funnel.
Who is Hired for?
Hired is for people looking for positions in any of the following tech or sales roles: software engineering, UX/UI design, data, DevOps, QA, sales, and product management. Within these roles, they have more specific categories and candidates with more experience tend to see more activity from employers on Hired.
What does Hired cost? How much work is involved?
For job seekers, Hired is free! Companies pay Hired for access to their already vetted candidates. Creating a Hired profile requires some work, as any aspect of the job search typically does. Candidates should take their time and fill it out completely with the understanding there is a potential that they will not see activity from employers. If your profile is approved by Hired, you are still required to go through all of the steps of each company’s process should they request an interview from a candidate.
Ratings and reviews
Hired has received mostly positive reviews. They boast many success stories on their website– people enjoyed working with their Candidate Experience Team Member more than traditional recruiters. The Hired team and the candidate have the same goal–getting the candidate a job. This made the process feel less adversarial for users.
Those who were not accepted into Hired’s marketplace complained that they did not receive any feedback as to why they were not a fit. It’s less helpful if you don’t know how you can enhance your profile. People who have been accepted also complained that they were receiving too many interviews at once and couldn’t keep up. They felt overwhelmed and like they were actually looking less professional to these companies since they were keeping them waiting for responses or needing to book interviews really far out. Another complaint was that the salaries that accompanied the job postings on Hired were higher than the actual offered salary from the company.
We reached out to Hired regarding these issues and were pleased to hear the Candidate Experience team has improved the outreach process for candidates that do not get approved along with scheduling features to support candidates receiving many interview requests at once. Additionally Hired has updated their Salary Calculator making employer and candidate salary details more accurate. It is important to note that although Hired requires salary details upfront, these are not binding. Hired is committed to continually improving based on feedback from their users.
